Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

 

The area of the Ljubljana Castle and its immediate surroundings are within the zone of the UKC Ljubljana (University Medical Centre Ljubljana) Heliport. Photography or filming using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) is therefore prohibited, except in the case that the following conditions are met:

1.) Open Category:
- you are a registered operator (EASA), as confirmed by the presentation of a valid certificate;
- you hold the appropriate remote pilot competency certificate (A1/A3, A2 – EASA), as confirmed by the presentation of a valid certificate;
- you have obtained permission from the owner or administrator of the territory over which you are flying (for the area of the Ljubljana Castle, its immediate surroundings and the Castle Vineyard, permission must be obtained from the Ljubljana Castle Public Institute);
- you have obtained permission from the UKC Ljubljana Heliport;
- you have notified the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of Slovenia of the flight 12 hours prior operation;
- the unmanned aerial vehicle system weighs no more than 1,200 grams;
- the unmanned aerial vehicle is operated at a height not exceeding 50 metres above ground level;
- the unmanned aerial vehicle is operated exclusively during daylight hours prior to 9.00 am, when the Ljubljana Castle opens to visitors (operation is not possible after this time due to the large number of visitors).

2.) Special Category:
- you have obtained permission from the UKC Ljubljana Heliport;
- you have notified the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of Slovenia of the flight 12 hours prior to operation;
- in the case of larger scale operation with a higher level of risk, prior consent must be obtained from the administrator of the overflight area.
